Life sucks.....sometimes.

I have an invite to a party at my bosses house this afternoon...........Loads of wine, fish and chip van booked for the event, sigh !!
I can't go,I am trussed up like a turkey in a weightlifters belt,I had no more than two hours kip last night due to that self induced rib pain,my blasted BT homehub picked yesterday early evening to up and die on me(I have borrowed a spare from a friend this morning).........no sleep and no internet and no party, life sucks sometimes, yes, yes,I know it could be much worse.....but it still sucks.
I took Porsche out visiting t'other day, there is a very elderly lady who lives just a few doors from me,she is riddled with cancer and almost blind, but she is a grand old girl with a rich Scottish accent and a wicked sense of humour,we were nattering away when she said how sad it was she could hear the neighbours chickens but couldn't actually see them any-more..........so being a bit daft, I did no more,I came home, scooped up Porsche(the veggie hen) and took her round for some stroking.
I think they both enjoyed it,amazing how much of a smile something so simple can bring to an old girls face.
Talking of Porsche, remember me posting pics of her looking like this ? Barely able to walk, virtually oven ready and skinny as a stick.Remember don't eat processed foods or caged eggs.

Well look at my girly now..........she is feathering up nicely and has filled out a bit,she will never be hulk hen,but she is no longer half starved.Maybe if she caught a few mice ?

You poor thing. Try a hotwater bottle and the duvet on the sofa, always makes me feel better. And if you really have cracked a rib you may need to go and get it strapped up.

She a handsome girl now, isn't she. Whisper in her ear that never a battery egg will pass my lips!

Poor you. I hope you feel better soon.

When you are feeling up to it can you explain the difference between eggs because I confess I am not entirely sure and I know, if anyone knows, you will.

Free range eggs: I thought it meant the hens were free to roam but apparently not. To qualify as free range the farmer just has to open the cage for five minutes and there are no, as I understand it, regulations that say free range hens are not fed with chemicals that make them fatter or lay more eggs.

Free range eggs which are described as "layed by hens free to roam and perch". Are these free roaming hens which are not pumped full of chemicals?

Barn Eggs? Free range hens who lay in a barn and are not pumped full of chemicals?

Thanks for the links, I have a thing about eggs, I hate what is sold in the shops as fresh eggs, and when unethically sourced as well.. I'm unsure about which to buy so I simply don't buy them, and go eggless until I find something that meets my criteria.
That means sometimes I don't eat eggs for a few weeks....
My obsession with having really fresh ones, must stem from when I was a child and Dad kept chickens. Add to that a desire to buy only truly free range........Well buying then becomes a problem.

P.S Hope your ribs are better soon, try to rest, and no lifting or straining at all.
